Adventures of corruption. :)

Well, today I hung out with Kyle. I tend to do that on Wednesdays now; he doesn’t complaint too much. But today, we pulsated his pores!!! Meaning he elected to have the Aztec clay mask on!

Image

By the way, this is my little brother! Hahahahah KYLE! And that is the mask :)

Image

I then joined in the fun by using my LUSH Magnaminty mask :) Love this one!

Too bad you couldn’t join the fun! One day I plan on doing a legit spa night with some friends, homemade masks and washes and the gifts are whoever wants to make a body scrub can and can take it home :) Awwwwwwww so cute. Not really, I’ve turned girly.

Face mask, face wash, body scrub and a cat named River.

Hello all! (listening to Mode by Bingo Players…. I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG!)

The birds are awakening and I have yet to sleep. :( I’m anxious, thinking too much, stressed out, freaking out over life and my job, and I was just unable to fall asleep much to the dismay of River and friends. :(

So what do I do at this hour of night when I can’t sleep? I find recipes or create them for face things. Tonight we have three :) *note in picture the top right one isn’t finished – I hadn’t added baking soda yet*

Image

My first one I used is a different face mask but uses a lot of the same ingredients as others. I don’t know if you guys knew this, but I used to have HORRID acne. It is a family curse. You wouldn’t believe it now if you saw my face though, that I used to be riddled by little and medium pimples and red bumps and blotches all over.

Simple Face Mask

1tbsp Honey
1tbsp Water
1tbsp baking soda
4-6 drops of tea tree oil
*can also add a small amount of lemon juice to decrease redness

Mix all items together, rinse face off with warm water, dry face, add this concoction, let it dry/keep it on for 20 minutes, rinse.

Image

*I look super tired!!

I ended up adding more baking soda than the recipe above called for.. it also tickles your face since it does get a little runny due to the honey. Hahahaha. Didn’t drip though.

Strawberry Face Wash

Image

1tbsp regular sugar (I used raw)
1tbsp brown sugar
2 Strawberries mashed
2tbsp coconut oil

This is a face wash, so mix these ingredients together the best you can and simply use some to wash your face with. I used it after the mask above. I knew the mask above would dry my skin a little bit since it does have baking soda and lemon juice in it so the coconut oil really made the skin moisturized after that.

Also, I had A LOT left over, so I just left it in my little pottery bowl (oh I made those by they way), sealed it in a ziploc baggy, and stored the rest for later :)

Did you know strawberries help decrease appearance of dilated pores? Well they do.

Simple Body Scrub (I only used the Burt’s Bee’s container to store it in)

Image

2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup honey

Mix them all together and use on your body for sexy smooth skin. Hahahaha, I used half the recipe and actually added just a touch more honey. I haven’t used it yet, but I have used ones like it. Next time I make one I will see if halfing the olive oil and replacing it with coconut oil will do :)

I hope these weren’t too boring. I just can’t sleep and really wanted to be productive. I just feel so lazy recently since I have only been working. Saturday to Monday I do evening shift (3 to 11pm) and then on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I do night shift (11 to 7a). So I get done at 7 on Thursday morning and go back at 3 on Saturday. Hahahaha. Only for this month though! Next month I am back to just having evening shifts.

I’m just exhausted. This schedule is really messing me up, I got really sick about two weeks ago, a relationship ended, a new one started, and I’m just not sure what to do at 4 in the morning when I can’t sleep even after taking pills to help. So I do my relaxing techniques. :) They seem to help.

Goodnight all.

Oh, and River.

ImageWho was being completely adorable tonight and I couldn’t resist her anymore!!!

Letters of Support prove to be challenging!!

I just never know how to communicate “I NEED MONEY TO GO TO INDIA” without using exactly those words and people just understanding. Guh. HELP!!!

What I am doing for this letter:

  • I want to go to India with Serve the Children this October for two weeks.
  • I want to work at their school and boarding house, possibly volunteer in hospitals, and just be a nurse there.
  • I may possibly teach health classes
  • I will definitely enjoy playing with kids on a daily basis
  • I want to go to a different country and learn their culture while I’m there

Are these good enough reasons?! I wanna go to other cultures, bring supplies with me, and do my best to be a nurse while I’m there.

Green tea, cinnamon, turmeric, nutmeg, lemon, ….. faces… roasted faces.

So tonight’s face mask was a concoction for sure!

I had some left over of yesterday’s honey, baking soda, lemon juice mask so I decided to add some to it.

I’m puttsing around the kitchen with my leftover mask lethargically pooling in my handmade pottery bowl I made back in 2008. I am looking at my spices and thinking in my head what items are good for the face and skin. Of course I turn to my trusty nutmeg! I add a dash of nutmeg but keep thinking if this face mask could be so much more. I grab a butter knife and the cinnamon. I get just the end of the knife piled high with cinnamon because I have learned too much can BURN your face! I then add double that amount of turmeric. OK, so these are all items I have used before, let’s try something new! I found dragon green tea, loose leaf on the shelf. This tea was in bigger pieces so I got to use the mortar and pestle! I put about 2 teaspoons in the mix. I mixed it all up, washed my face with warm water and my pineapple enzyme face wash then put on this gooey, sticky, interesting looking and smelling mask. Not too bad so far though :)

Oh and the cinnamon isn’t burning my face!

Scarring Mask/Scrub

Scarring Mask/Scrub

Well tonight I made this scrub/mask for my face.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon baking soda
Lemon Juice from one slice of lemon

You might need to add more baking soda to get a good consistency. When you have it on your face it drips cause your heat makes the honey all melty!! So sit over a towel :) You may not want to eat this mask because the baking soda makes it SALTY, I found this out by mistake.

Also, I might add some nutmeg to this the next time around :) I feel like it might help out.

Sick Day, faux-hawk, my pretty lad, and kitten snuggles.

Today I am experiencing a sick day. Last night I was doing great! I had fun with friends – good clean fun- and then went and got my hair cut the way I wanted it :) After that my Pretty Lad came over to watch some Psych. Halfway through one episode I start getting a REALLY upset stomach. Not normal for me :( I have a stomach of steel, but this pain I could not get rid of. I went to the bathroom a couple of times thinking I would vomit but didn’t. Finally, I started vomiting… over and over and over and over again! I checked my temperature and it was high :( During my first bout in the bathroom, Josh was at the door  asking “Hey babe you ok? you need anything?” I responded as well as I could with “Nope, I got it” *Vomit*

And I got my hair cut :) I can’t wait til I am feeling a little better and can post a picture :)

My Pretty Lad and I had lunch yesterday :) I hadn’t seen him since Sunday and man I missed him!! We had a quick lunch, then saw him later but I got sick :( Sucks!! But on Sunday he decided to tell me he loves me… and he told me that last night too when he left. Kinda cute… I don’t know how I feel about it yet. Hahahahaha…. But he is good people :)

River has been snuggling me all night and day. She is a super great kitten and it looks like she knows I’m not feeling well.

I did try to eat some today, but that was a HUGE mistake :(

Time to work on a powerpoint, support letters, and some letters. I can do all this while sitting in bed :( and I feel horrid and have to sit in bed. If I move too fast I upchuck stuff.

Small Adventures and Smiles and a train to Hogwarts!

Well, here is some pictures of the walk the other day.

Image

It was just a nice little walk in the sun :) WOOT! Here is the little brother Kyle and a picture of me all smiles because I love being outside!! YAY!

Image

I don’t usually have someone around to take pictures of me so I handed Kyle my camera and said “TAKE MY PICTURE!!” Hahahahaha

Image

All smiles in the outdoors… or well, inside a kids toy shaped like a train. We had tea on the train while going to Hogwarts or something I think. Bwwhahahaha, I preferred my tea with cream and one scoop of sugar :)

I’m doing an egg white face mask today… it makes your face REALLY tight as it is drying. WOWZERS!

Make sure when you do your egg white face mask, you froth it up quite a bit with a whisk or a fork :)

I’m off to get stuff done and work :) YAY!

I found some cute postcards yesterday and am going to write one up to Cindy :)

Natural Astringent and that CLAY MASK WAS AMAZING!

I made a natural astringent tonight. :)

I got witch hazel at Whole Foods… that was what I was waiting for to get it.

So, here, I added

1 cup water
1/2 cup pure lemon juice
2/3 cup Witch Hazel

Just add it all in a bottle and use! Mines actually in a mason jar and I just dip my cotton ball in it… hahaha. Actually, it isn’t even in a mason jar, it is in an old pickle jar. But whatever! It does the job.

Oh and I washed my face off from that mask and my face is amazing! I am so glad I got that mask! My pores are so much clearer, I really wish I did before and after pictures. It looks and feels like it sucked out junk in my pores since I was a teenager! WAH! YAY!

Oh goodness.

Hello!

So I worked the weekend and was the nurse in “charge”. It was very… interesting and enlightening. I am glad to have a few days off though :) I haven’t known what it is like to have days off and be able to enjoy them. Usually if I have days off I have to avoid doing anything that costs money because it means I’m spending bill money.

I purchased this today to try out :) Aztec Indian Healing Clay… it really does make your face pulse! I’m super stoked to use this once a week and see what happens :) WOOT! Wow, my face is TIGHT! Bwahahahah kinda burns, but it said that your face can be red for about half hour after washing it off.

I also made a new coffee scrub today since mine was out. I changed it up a bit so here is the new recipe.. without portion sizes… sorry I kinda just pour everything in and get the consistency I want.

Coffee Cellulite Body Scrub
- finely ground coffee
- Coconut oil
- Baking soda
- Raw sugar

I further ground the coffee into a nice powder.
After that I added the coconut oil. I microwaved about 3/4 cup of it for about 15 seconds then mixed it into the coffee grounds. It was rather runny, but that is what I wanted because I then added the baking soda to it and raw sugar to make it thicker and chunky. I am excited to see how it works. Apparently, coconut oil, baking soda, and coffee all work very well on pores and skin to tighten, firm, and help get rid of cellulite. :)

Ok, OOH! New picture! I went on an adventure yesterday :)

Image

Anyway, I must go and wash this off my face now :) Then I am going to dinner with Josh’s family.

White teeth, birthdays, and delicious faces.

Well today has been a nice and lazy day. I went for a run today, then went to the gym :) , ran some errands, sat outside and read for a bit, then came home and cleaned.

I liked working out in my new pink shorts :) I hate the color pink; however, I decided to get them for my birthday. Here is me rocking them in the dressing room with my best friend Steena.

Image

I don’t make it a habit to wear shorts because I don’t think I have legs that look good exposed. The gym also makes me not care as much. When I’m working out, I don’t have to look amazing at all points. Because basically I sweat and look gross but just don’t care!!!

Alright, now for some facemask things! The next picture just shows one of my favourite face washes. It is tea tree oil and it has really helped my face over the last couple years. :) The stuff mixed up in the little pottery bowl is delicious! It is just equal portions of honey and coconut oil. :) I mixed it up and put it on my face. Well, I didn’t JUST put it on my face. I ate some, put some on my face, ate some more, put some more on my face and so on.

Also, just rub this stuff all over your lips too because your lips also need some loving.

Image

Of course my face with the stuff on it. Hahahaha. Watch out, it drips. I would just wipe off what was dripping and eat it :)

Image

Ok, teeth whitening. I mix mouth wash with equal portion of hydrogen peroxide, swish it, spit. Then brush your teeth with toothpaste mixed with baking soda. I also use toothpaste with baking soda in it, ya know that brand you can buy, but I still add more baking soda to it.

The next face wash I want to try is coconut oil mixed with some baking soda. I have heard some reviews that it really helps decrease pore size. I’m worried about the oil because even if I just use it once it leaves me quite oily.

Next on the radar for what I am doing though is a plain gelatin mixed with some milk for those pore strip peely things. I just need to have milk. Since I don’t drink it, I don’t have any in the house.

Alright…. you have any suggestions for REALLY dry, rough hands? Now that I have the nursing job I am washing my hands WAY too much. I come home and lather coconut oil on them and put some exam gloves on for about 20 minutes.

Now the time for some SPICY left over Thai food bought for me by Steena for my lunch yesterday :)
